I was quite surprised this was revealed but the AdWords conversion data is used to help detect MFA websites.
The full story is at Shoemoney (http://www.shoemoney.com/2006/08/26/head-of-adsense-sheds-light-on-googles-strategy-to-combat-mfa-websites/)

Well, I look dumb http://blog.searchenginewatch.com/blog/060831-094619
Postscript by Jennifer Slegg: Actually, this has been known for quite some time that AdSense uses AdWords conversion data to determine how well each publisher's clicks are converting for advertisers. I covered this nearly a year ago on JenSense in a detailed post about how smart pricing works (http://www.jensense.com/archives/2005/10/one_poorly_conv.html), and what factors go into determining it.
Postscript by Barry: Ouch! I stand way corrected. Jen is the guru on this stuff. I should have looked at JenSense.com prior to putting myself out like this. Nice to have experts to correct you.

I wasn't 100% sure about that one at first either :D
Nice to see it's confirmed by JenSense though.
