The Father of the Web just launched his blog
So I have a blog

Obviously this will be extremely LINKED to!

Now is a Unique opportunity to compare the Big Three and their BL crediting ALGOs at 12/17/05 and later...

Comparing the results from Google Yahoo and MSN

Google (contain the term)
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=%22dig.csail.mit.edu/breadcrumbs/blog/4%22
Google (link)
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=link%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fdig.csail.mit.edu%2Fbreadcru mbs%2Fblog%2F4&btnG=Search

Yahoo
http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=link%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fdig.csail.mit.edu%2Fb readcrumbs%2Fblog%2F4&ei=UTF-8&fr=FP-tab-web-t-296&fl=0&x=wrt

MSN
http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=link%3Adig.csail.mit.edu%2Fbreadcru mbs%2Fblog%2F4&FORM=QBRE

It is interesting how even when using the Contain the Term, Google does not acknowlege all the sites, and one could assume that these are NON-reciprocal, mostly quality Techie links, with a substantial number of BLOGs

Thats great analysis and something you rarely see.

It looks as though Google has either a time based filter or is just very private about the information it gives out. A bit like Molasses. Nothing moves too quickly.

MSN just lets everything through like water. 7005 backlinks is pretty spectacular in such a short space of time.

Im guessing he wont be spending too big on the SEO budget this year ?

Google is showing some backlinks here (from xml query) (http://www.seologs.com/pagerank/prv2/pagerankv2.html?start=0&url=dig.csail.mit.edu/breadcrumbs/blog/4). Notice the Pagerank is already 6/10 too.

MattCutts did reveal important Google-policies about BL SERPs
http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/whats-an-update/

But interestingly on Google AND MSN
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=tim+berners+lee+blog
http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=tim+berners+lee+blog&FORM=QBHP
Two URLs are #1 & #2 for Tim Berners Lee Blog

BUT nowhere on Yahoo & ASK....

Google,
and #5 for TIM BERNERS LEE - even though that is NOT in the TITLE also, on the second page on MSN -!!!!!!!

BUT, No where on Yahoo and ASK

This ongoing experiment is just being done because it presents a very very unusual opportunity to Analyze the relevancy SERPs of the majors, and equally important - the ability to incorporate NEW SITES that are relevant.

This blog will become a very link-popular site - so monitoring it will offer ongoing ALGO insights....

Google has obviously incorporated some new intelligent ALGOs - but the REAL surprise is the JUMP in MSN

Now the ultimate analysis - how long will it take to get on the top 1000
for the competative:

World wide web
Web

Wouldn't he trip the speed limit on GOogle for acquiring links ?

What if you get 20,000 links all of a sudden and then get none ?

Is that a reciprocal idea or a one way link idea. I saw something in discussion of Google Patent Applications which would deem this type of link growth unnatural.

This probably ties with Matt as the great all time Blog PR Movers

He has two domains for a homepage but appearantly this does NOT always hurt in Google
