Hi
I just returned from a meeting with a SEO company, they told me that the use of the noscript tag is no longer "permitted". They have been using it to implement there solution and now have to change strategy due to this update in Google. They claim that if you have been using the noscript to include a link to a sitemap, this link will no longer be found be Google.
Can any one confirm this.
Regards
Kristian

No script is what it says on the tin..
If something is in a js file / script then use the noscript tag.. However this "was" and still is used to spam the search engines. If you use it properly then why worry ?
If your talking about the site in your post then I can't see and noscript unless your cloaking ?

hmmm interesting..
Hmmm, that link means nothing to me. No access.
Why not post a "snippet", squire Gabs?

Does that help?
Google flips on/off support for noscript indexing from time to time.
They *will* still follow urls found in noscript section (will not pass pr), but they may not index the content found in the noscript section.
And
> find content
Yes, it will "find the content". It will even follow urls found in comment tags.
:)
Nice. Haven't tested this, but I sorta have an urge to take the things BT says seriously. Dunno why.
PS: I'm happily using NOSCRIPT tags (of course not without SCRIPT tags) and I haven't had any problems with them yet :)

My conclusion is that if you write content which is not for you visitors to see (like the seo company in question) your doing it wrong - content should always be targeted at humans first, SE's second. If thats your focus you dont have to hide your content away in noscript tags
