View Full Version : txt files
Anyone tested redirecting .txt files that have linkage and/or what passes link pop from a text file ?
Would a stright http://www.google.com pass ?
One solution would be to use mod rewrite to replace the .txt with some nice html ..

I find that the HTML works loads better than txt. Use HTML whenever possible, it is the language of the bots

It is always better to use .htaccess file for 301 redirection which will also pass link popularity
I'm pretty sure that URLs in text files don't pass link juice - even though they CAN be read by bots. So that only leaves the following purposes for urls in text files: Adding the URL to the "manual review" list
Cross-checking the URL with loads of others to determine "linking schemes"
Adding info@ in front of the domain to send you some email spam
etc.:peep:
