I am new to SEO.
I am starting a new website in future realting web servers.
what I like to know is.
Does Adwords helps in page ranking?
but please explain how adwords works....
and how does it help in the populartiy of the webpage...
thanks
Adwords will mainly help your TRAFFIC, not your (organic) RANKINGS.

It helps your page rank for searches in the sponsored links section, but like Wit said it makes no difference to the organic listings.

Ranking are effected by adwords but not directly..
(please note the site needs to be good)
So u have a cool site and you advertising on adwords/alike and guess what people find you and link and talk about the site... Thus rankings go up..
But of course if you have a crap site then pay for traffic and buy links..

In terms of Google's main search results, AdWords doesn't help at all ... except in some very minor indirect ways in which it may help. If you want to boost your free search engine rankings you need search engine optimization (SEO) NOT AdWords.

I guess we all agree then :)
