There is no fast track to getting good ranking on Google unless your use Black Hat strategys.

However saying that if i was go go about doing a new site i would wait to start one until the PR update has happened because it will give you time to go out and get good relevant links, when i say good i mean PR 6,7,8 sites relevant to your sites.

If your sites are SEO'd properly and all the anchors are done right, when the next update happens it will have a significant effect, you could see your site shoot up through the rankings.

I have tried and tested this method and had a site go from nothing into a PR 7 site and number 9 in Google for the keywords Stock Exchange.

It's all about planning and timing.

Good luck.

Hi Rob,

It's no easy way to get a high page rank. Basically the Google Page Rank is mainly based on backward links (which takes time to get). My best advice would be: don't get to caught up in getting a high Page Rank. What is important is that you do the following:

1. Do keyword research for the site you are optimising

2. Make a list of keywords to target and optimise the content of your website to these keywords. Don't target the same keywords for all pages, and keep to targetting about 2-3 keywords per page. And most importantly keep it relevant.

3. If your site has flash or javascript navigation make sure you add an alternative navigation path at the bottom of each page (in system text). Also make sure your site has a site map.

4. Now spend time optimising your title and meta tags. Especially the title tag, again target only 2-3 keywords for each title tag. If possible write a different meta description tag for each page, describing what that page is about. When it comes to the meta keyword tag, it's not as important as it used to be but a few search engines still read this tag (and MSN seems to be putting some emphasis on it). BUT don't put keywords in the meta keyword tag that is not in the content of that relevant page (that's just a waste of time!).

5. Then work on getting GOOD quality links (not quanitiy). If possible try to get keywords into the anchor text of the link itself. So for example if your company is called Troop and your are a SEO agency, make the link the "SEO agency" part not the company name.

Anyway, that's a start. Best of luck!

Cheers,

Lisa

To get a higher pr in short time, just spend some money buy links from higher pr websites, and wait until next PR update. But high PR can't guarantee high rankings and traffic boost. Website promotion is a step by step project, not a one day or one time job.

Search Engines are like humans too, they want quality websites so treat them like humans. These are the concepts you must know in SEO

- Good and spiderable content.
- About the keywords, you must understand the following:
* Importance of keywords to SE users
* Competitors - the simpler the keyword, the more competitors can be acquired.
- Knowledge on meta tags, title tags, anchor tags.
- Link building (forum signatures, free classifieds posting, blog submissions, URL directory submissions, etc.)
- Black hat methods (optional) - well, if you are brave and smart enough, you can do these

I agree! First, it depends solely on whether your site is sandboxed (age under 6 months old).

But no, a high PR backlink can't guarantee high rankings - but a strategic combination of several high PR links & embedded links on content hosted pages will get you the closest.

In my experience, optimizing for your targeted keywords - with trusted, high PR links (don't always have to be relevant) works best. You should continually work on building links - however, link exchanges and directory submissions will never have as much momentum or be as powerful as a one-way, static backlink!

Get a content rich site and a good number of quality back links from relevant sites. It will help you in getting good PR, but its not a fast track one. Have patience.

Content is key. Post on popular forums and get bloggers to notice your content. They might write about it and post a link.

Research the top ranking sites for you desired keyword phrase and then try and figure out what makes them rank high.

The generally consensus is that their is no 'get rich quick' method for SEO. It all takes time to have done and it be done right. People don't grow into champions overnight and no website was built in a night (at least no decent one).

I agree with most of the things being said here. However, buying links from High-PR sites is slowly yielding lower traffic as time goes by. It seems SEs are getting smarter. At least, this is so from my own perspective :).

Yes , the fast way is to spend hours and hours of your time submitting to high page rank directories such as Jayde and a lot of other directories...It is really fun [B]not/B] but the added PR change is quite worth it in the long run IMO.

i agree with the rest of the guys that patience is the key to be on top of the SERPs. You must consider some factors in optimizing your site. check your On-page Factors (your keyword, content of your sites, outbound links, content) and Off-page factors (incoming links, directories, etc)

Yes, get you site indexed very quickly with good content and about ~250 pages. Then find a PR 5, four PR 4 and ten PR3 sites to give you a proper SEOed one way link back to your site.

Then wait for Google to index their site, your site and wait for the next Google Page Rank update. This should make the Google Toolbar PageRank bar a PR 5.

But if you set up a Google Webmaster Account and verify the quality of your internal links (not broken) are in place. Add a weekly submitted Google Sitemap, etc. your site should hit a PR 4.

But to improve over this, then you must get high PR page backlinks to go highter.

According to me to get your website listed well in the major search engines, you have to perform search engine optimization (SEO). . This is a basic SEO plan with tips for doing SEO and getting results within 1 month. Google is the primary target of this overall plan. Lock and Load. Prepare Your Site Choose Your Weapons (keywords)

If the site has been around for ~ 1 year or more, you can get good results within 1-2 months. But if it is a new site, it will take more than 6 months before things start to move on Google. Both Yahoo and MSN take less time but also have a new site delay.
