Hi,
I have a site that has been up for a couple of years. due to changes I made many months ago (html to php but added 301 redirect) most of the site was supplemental. after getting some backlinks I noticed some pages started to get pagerank. My index page has pr 4 but 2 weeks ago It dissapeared from all of google's datacenters.
The only thing I can think of is that I have done that might have caused the site to be banned is that I have a div with an image as a background with white text and the background of my site is white. but all other text on the page is black. also after my site was delisted I continued to see hits from googlebot.
Should I wait and see If google picks me up again or ask for a re inclusion?
Thanks

You can check if you have been banned at the Google webmasters page.
see: google.com/webmasters
If you sign up for a sitemaps account, and verify your site then you can see more detailed info as well.

I think you should wait for some time. This was a problem with my site. But now everything is fine. Is your site info site or e-commerce site? If it's e-commerce then don't wait too long and if it's info site then you can afford to wait for some time. Best of luck to you.

How is your server downtime? Than can attribute to a dropped listing.

Google webmasters account could help you know better for sure if your site got banned from their engine. I've seen actually some that even are actively getting links but got sandboxed by Google. it's because of some faults they did to their site. better yet, just wait and see for a week or so more but continue building up and optimizing your site.;)

I would check for a noindex meta tag (recently experienced this with Blogger account), continue building links to site, maybe submit a Google Sitemap and if this still doesn't work request a re-inclusion.

Hi -
Have you checked your server logs to see if your site is still being crawled by Google?

Perhaps they went supplemental because of duplicate content? 2 exact sites with different URL?
But I agree, you should wait a while. Once, my entire site except the homepage disappeared from Google! Got the biggest shock out of my life. But after a while, the pages came back.

Hi,
I posted on google groups, and someone mentioned that google sitemap code had validation errors that might be the cause of my site being deindexed from all data centers. for the last couple of weeks googlebot visited my site around 30 hits every other day, I still had pagerank (4) and now 3 days ago I went to pr0 and no visits from googlebot. I sent a reinclusion request about 2 weeks ago so I will wait & see.
Thanks for the replys

Hi.
My site is over a year old, and I got on 1st and 2nd page results on Google for all of my keywords (even without many back links).
Then I have created and submitted Google site-map, with top priority for main page (it vent like that 1, 0.9, 0.8, 0.7, 0.6, 0.6, 0.6, 0.5,) And then I was drooped to about 10th page results for 90% of my keywords.
Thinking that something is wrong with the site-map I have submitted another one, that vent like that (0.5, 0.5, 0.5, 0.5, 0.5, 0.5, for all pages) that didn’t help either.
So I deleted entirely site-map from my server, hoping that I can at least get back on 2nd page results, as I was before without sitemaps, especially now when I have about 50 good back links and PR-2, and that also didn’t help.
I opened Google Webmaster Tools account and Google Analytics along with submitting the Site-map, and I found a lot of posts from people that did the same thing and they also got dropped right after doing so?!
I’m really confused right now, please help me! Thank you.

use google webmaster and also a spyder monitoring tool to see if you are banned from google.
