Why Alexa is bad?

Everybody is writing that Alexa is bad and so on..
why? It's one of the tools advertiser use to calculate how much is worth a site.
I know that's bad, but I see a lot of sites (especially in ReviewMe) that ranks waaay better than me and doesn't have a clue on what content is.
I do watch those sites when I feel my blog isn't good.
It relieves me :D :D

I would point you to my blog to increase alexa stats but I can't add a signature (and I'm sure none of you has the toolbar installed)

Alexa isn't bad its just a bit useless..

If you have more then 1 site and u compair the alexa rank vs your traffic your see..

It's a pity that my site is probably 2342342344324th on the list, so no traffic stats :)

Alexa is not a a reliable source of info. cause it only shows you the estimated amount of traffic...

Alexa may not be perfect, the results may be skewed inadvertently or deliberately, but it is the best there is. I use visit it daily to compare my site with my competitors, it gives me an pulse indication sort of. From Alexa, I learnt some of the countries from where I was getting less visitors than my competitors, and I was able to take corrective action.

if nothing else alexa is fun. However they admit its inaccurate. I think after you get into the top 10,000 iish its pretty accurate but over 100k clearly its inaccurate largely because hardly anyone has the alexa toolbar.

Its not a serious tool for analysis, but I suppose the 3 month rankings are a quite good indicator.

My traffic rankings tend to not always agree on a daily or weekly basis but definitely tend to agree on longer periods.

Alexa has gone very....awry lately. Compete.com has launched and is a 'better' Alexa in my opinion. Especially for detailed information about the company.

Alexa ranking are viewed with suspicion because the rankings are easy to fake to some degree... then you see all these sites for sale with "GREAT ALEXA RANKINGS!"

Alexa can only gather data from users who have installed Alexa Toolbar. If any user hasnt installed it, then alexa wont show it.

EXACTLY correct - I don't use Alexa but I've found myself trying to improve Alexa rankings for my site...it's pretty bogus if you ask me. Limiting information to people who have this toolbar seems pretty useless since it isn't a true sampling of all traffic on the net...

Alexa is not bad is just that ist not that accurate and new SEO rely on this that's why they considered it bad.

alexa of course is not reliable source for traffic data with along with compete it is the only way to see traffic of your competitors.

Guys, Alexa has been a mess lately. I have sites that have doubled in traffic yet alexa shows that the traffic is declining. Google has a new "Trends for websites" feature. Its easily the best way to compare the traffic of 2 or more sites accurately unlike alexa:
