Hi guys,
Im new to this forum and I think it is really interesting. I have a question for all SEO pros.
Is it better to have a link on a links page PR0 (home page PR6) or having a link a PR3 (home page PR4)?????
is the links page's PR really important or its the home page PR that counts?
thank you very much.
Yannick

anyone?
Some told me it was the home page and some other told me it was the links page PR that counts............
The toolbar Pr is out of date so you need to look deaper into the value of the site..
If you look for traffic its far higher ROI ;)

Well, in my opinion, it won't hurt to estimate the value of the link from the PR value of the page, even if it is slightly outdated.
Well, PR is the thing which generally webmasters needs for link exchanging. It will work well in link exchanging if you have a nice PR page for your link exchange page but yes, its really depend how much you have on your home page, its like home page should have more than your LE page.

So clarify please. If you are interested in the PR and the PR for the page where you link is a PR0 but the home page is PR6 that works too right?

Well, yes and no.
The page may not have any PageRank for several reasons, it's best to check before you make a decision based on what the home page score is.
For example, the page may just be new. That's ok, if it's well linked to the rest of the site the PageRank will flow in time.
Or - it could be coded to prevent search engines from indexing the page.
Poke around a little first and then decide. If the host site is well ranked and well known in your industry, it might be worth having your link sit on a page with little or no PageRank.

You need to see how often the page is crowled by search engines. It is a reliable factor to determine if a page is favoured by SEs. The more frequent crowl rate the better. I never exchange links if my link is on a page last crowled by google 2 months ago...

It really all depends usually the page rank 6 will leak into the rest of the directory/website so that could be the way to go.
linking to a high PR site is really an advantage to boost your own site...and it would also be great if there's a relevance between the content of each site

The PR value of the page your link is on is very important. What you need to be concerned with is if they place a "nofollow" attribute on it.
Or are they using javaScript navigation to get to the page.
Finally, they will place the page in the robots.txt file to block it from being indexed.
Finally, forum links count but do they have PR attached to it?
