Is there any value from links from places like zoominfo.com or linkedin.com? Also, are there any other good places to list a free profile?

I think if they give you a direct link and the profile page gets indexed - then why not? It is not a big waste of time!

Any link is not bad. Just make sure that target you are going for has PR.

All free links are not good back links for your site. So, try to get some quality back links for your site.

Any free link is good if it is in a "well formed, SEO format".
keyword phrase
The link text will help.
But, if the page has no PR or many other links, then the is no PR advantage or it is considered a "dry link" (i.e. does not pass the PR juice).
We recommend to our customers that they create a "text link" standard and use it for any and all linking concepts.
Our Example:

Catanich Internet Marketing Dallas Texas ( TX )
Catanich Internet Marketing is a search engine optimization company located in Dallas Texas ( TX ). At Catanich, we believe that search engine marketing is more than generating traffic; its about driving qualified visitors to your site and getting them to take action.

Create one for your site and use it everywhere you can. It does really help.
