Yesterday I noticed we were 10 for http://www.google.com/search?q=seo&start=10

Now under Matt at 11.

I think we have very little anchor text pointing to us with "seo".

Go figure.

Yeah - the beginner's guide had been in front of Matt briefly, but he justs keeps moving on up. I suspect he'll be in the top 3 by June. He was in the 30s a couple months ago.

Sandbox - whatever. ;)

Google is NOW - MUCH more complicated than the BackLink hyperlinked hypertext of several years ago - it is predictable with their New Algo Complexity - why Rankings turned out the way they did...with the aforementioned URLs...

Matt will have a new surprise next update - even
much better than this (http://www.google.com/search?q=google&num=10&lr=&cr=&safe=off&start=100)

Why is that last link starting at result 101? Can you explain?

Do a Search for Google -

A very very very competative term

Depending on the DataCenter - Near the top 100 mark -
even on this BigDaddy 66.249.93.104 - falling around the 140 mark .................The blog is only 4 1/2 months old.

An update is scheduled soon!

... and now I remember what I came here for:
was looking for your article about the seo contest to add it here:
gapbridge.com/?page_id=6
:)

rustybrick

MikeDammann

What is nice? (sorry, lost me there)

rustybrick

That you are participating in the contest. We have no articles on this contest in this forum (I think), I am trying to stay out of it.

Best of luck.

Thanks, what I was thinking about was an entry of yours about the contest that happens to rank for the term somewhere.

rustybrick

No idea which one it is, I haven't check the SERPs for that term.

MikeDammann
01-18-2006, 08:49 AM
I know you haven't ;)

I know you haven't ;)
I really have no idea what you are talking about.

I looked at the top 60 results at Google for v7ndotcom elursrebmem and did not find seroundtable listed.

Actually, the second day of the comp it was page 2 .... seems to have disappeared now.

rustybrick
01-18-2006, 09:10 AM
Ok - i have no intention of competing for this.

MikeDammann
01-18-2006, 09:14 AM
I know, am looking at it from the angle of why pages rank and then don't, about half of the ones in the results are articles like yours which were not created to rank for it.

rustybrick
01-18-2006, 09:42 AM
Now that makes a good topic in the Google forum. ;)

Do you think Google is messing with the v7ndotcom elursrebmem results? Are the v7ndotcom elursrebmem Google results something SEOs should study for SEO education?

:)

MikeDammann

I believe they have done so with a couple of sites that didn't belong in there, such as this one (http://www.isthisyourcat.com) that went from page 2 to nowhere.

randfish
01-18-2006, 01:42 PM
Should we study them for education? Absolutely... How often do you get to see new site ranking for a new phrase from day one? We can watch the evolution and I suspect sandbox won't come into play thanks to the total lack of existence on the term (although I could be all wet).

Now the blog is #7 for seo. Something is wrong with Google. :)
