However, the EXTREMELY heavily SEO'ed SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION -SERPs certainly can reveal what strategies are no longer effective or have been Algo neutralized by looking at the rise and drops over the past two years.

Big Daddy appears to be spreading across most DataCenters
The new algos that is being triggered are quite interesting - but the most revealing is the changes in Search Engine Optimization http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=search+engine+optimization
Since this is strategically The Most SEO'ed term - it is interesting that many long-time Page 1 Sites have now dropped a page or two. :o
So it allows one to keep abreast of what TACTICS are currently effective in Google.
Many other interesting changes in competative terms, with long time winners dropping a page or two....:tsk:
Especially AMAZON - remember a few months ago they were in the top 20 for DOZENS of competative keywords - even with new PR0 pages.
Even Seoroundtable has moved up dramatically for the term SEO
It is difficult to pinpoint the Exact Changes in the Algos - but it is DEFINITELY keyword Back Link Oriented - Domains are not passing their Rankings to their other pages as intensely.
BTW: Please, consider adding some color and optional Fonts... Please...
this Black Verdana - does not allow for Mood posting....... the emoticons are very pretty.

Personally, I'd prefer we keep everything in black Verdana - I have a hard time reading posts that don't follow a logical text layout.
As for the link you pointed to SEWeb - I can't interpret the data easily. Can you lay it out so we could see what the rankings for on a more logically laid out chronological chart?

the first post was courtesy of Google Alert
fortunately the Google archives for SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION
was chosen as a query and automatically updated by add-ons
that is their layout - it has to be studied hard - but it is worth the effort
It shows the new sites that entered Google top 50 SERPs, and the date of entry Starting from almost two years ago
here is the updated feed link - feel free to examine

See that ONE Slashdot link - that was your story peaking at #29
Remember those controversial comments :D - by those outraged slashdoters
