When attempting to save changes at the adgroup level, the following error message pops up for a new account I launch today:

"To change an ad group that has already been active, first please pause the ad group. Then make your changes."

I was told by customer service that this has been an intermittent glitch only affecting certain advertisers. No ETA as of today.

Has anyone experienced the above? Solutions?

Yes, pause the campaign & adgroup, make changes and resume.

By "yes" I imagine you experienced the same glitch. Pausing didn't work at the time; evidently tried that.

In any case, in seems to be working as of this morning. No more popup message when attempting to make changes to ad groups.

Nothing to add to the discussion about fixing this but I just created a campaign for a client and could not change the name of the ad group or the campaign. Even after pausing the group, the campaign, and both.

A minor Frustration, but a frustration none the less.

Is this happening with new accounts only?

Yes, it only appears to affect newly created accounts after the last release was pushed up (about 2-3 weeks ago).

Of the 3 accounts I launched last week, the error does not appear anymore. Time might be your only ally. Else, you can always call it in (1-800-518-5689). Maybe the problem is still intermittent for some advertisers. Gluck.

Btw, I assume you know to use IE (the account hierarchy dropdowns from the last release do not render in FF. I'm not discounting that there could be other cross-browser incompatibilities.)

Glitch is re-occurring on an account I just launched a few minutes ago. This issue was apparently previously fixed at the account level since my two last ones (see beginning of thread) are now working. You'll definitely have to call it in if you run into this problem.
