Unnatural link growth - Test done

Hi,

What an excellent forum, really.

I just read the sandbox thread and there was some really good info there.

I just recently finished a test. I launched two sites at the same time with new domains. Within 3 days I linked to one kind of normally and the other one like extreme.

It seems like Google banned my test page (unnatural one) and the other one is doing very well.

Interesting test. One thing I noticed (if I'm reading it right), is that the unnatural got about 10,000 links while the natural got about 5,000. Seems to me both of those numbers would be considered unnatural for a 3 day old site. Maybe you can clarify.

Yes however the unnatural one is from 48 unique IPs and the other one only 8 or something. Also for the unnatural it was 2 PR 7 backlinks, and many PR 6 and 5 - not the same at all for the other one. The 5K is misleading as it is sitewide on some pages.
