The easiest way to create a valid Google site map is to use GsiteCrawler.

gsitecrawler.com/en/download

You simply install it, give it your URL, and it will spider your site, and create a file called sitemap.xml. When you become more familiar with the program, you can use the advanced features that will give different pages more weight than others. It can be a really powerful tool.

After you have created the site map, you login to Google Webmaster Tools, and you can submit your sitemap.xml file there.

Could from its beginning back in 2005 calculate priority values for all pages based on internal linking within the website. Also makes it easy to discover broken links, redirects etc.

It also has a great set of output formats that can be used to create a list of web pages in a site.

Also, there is no upper limit as others have.

Yes sir, You have to create a sitemap, It is good to create an HTML sitemap or an XML sitemap. HTML sitemap is for user purpose as if user looks for any link on your page and if he did not get it then Sitemap will be very useful for him. But Googlebot does not read it so you should create an XML sitemap that is easily crawlable by Googlebot and search engine friendly so it will help to quick index all of your new pages.
