Once you select your keywords, it's time to apply them to your Web pages. The page text is the most important aspect of your page to the search engines. Search engines give more weight to the titles and headings, or emphasized text. That's why the first 200 words are so important. It's also the basis of the top-left-down keyword optimization strategy. Besides the 200 words and emphasized text on your page, concentrate on making sure your body text contains keywords.

what you should optimize and why:

1. Title tag (<title>): All SEO experts agree the title tag is the most important tag on the page. It's the first word or words the spider encounters and it's the title of your page's listing in the SERPs. Use this tag to your advantage; that is, make sure your keywords are listed here.
2. Page heading and subheadings: The page heading (also called page title) and subheadings (also called subtitles) are the next most important features on the page. The page headings and subheadings should describe the page in a way that's relevant to users as well as search engines. Some sites use graphics for these important tags -- but spiders can't read graphics, so these crucial tags are wasted if you use graphics instead of text.
3. Abstract: Besides the title and page headings, your page should have some text that describes what the page is about. This will be pulled into the listing for your page on the SERPs, so make it keyword-rich in a way that pleases spiders and users. Make the most of this area so you're using the top 200 words of your page to the best advantage.
4. Major headings and terms in bold and italics: Words in major heading tags and words in bold and italics will also influence your ranking. These tags tell the user the highlighted terms are important to the page, and the spider sees them the same way. Make sure the emphasized words are keyword rich.
5. Body of the text: Don't forget to ensure your keywords are in the text. If you have trouble doing this, you might have chosen the wrong keywords.
6. Hyperlinks: If you link to your own page, use the hot words for a link to describe the link with the keywords. Don't use the URL as the hot link.

The first 200 words and the most emphasized words on your page should be keywords. After that, ensure that your body text contains keywords.

how many keywords do you have to use in body text?

I think each page ideally should focus on one main phrases and variations of it. Because title tag is so important, it is quite hard to get a page to rank for more than one/two phrases.

Awesome article. One thing I'd throw in is to keep an eye on keyword density. I try to keep it between 2.5 to 5%. Sometimes when people write articles based on a keyword they use it too many times, and this can cause trouble!

Yes that's right but you also have meta description on you on page, because robots crawl your site and collects information like meta description which shows in SERP once they searching one of you major keywords. You also need to apply Keyword Density, Keyword Proximity and Keyword Prominence to get your site more competitive and SEO friendly.

Thank you for your article. It has been great.

Website design is not rocket science. The web was originally created with ordinary people in mind. Designing a website is something that you can do more easily than you think.

The home page:- So what do you want on this most important first screen? You naturally want the title of your website and you want to let visitors know what the content is as briefly as possible. Use short phrases and short paragraphs. You also want to provide links to the main sections of your site (making sure to include text links).

Set the theme: - In addition, you are setting the tone/theme of your site with this first page. . . what visitors will expect to see carried out on every page within the site. This is also true of the navigation system you use.

Organize the pages: - You want to use contrast to guide the eye around your pages. And, to be effective, the contrast must be bold. Also, any good web page design must have a focal point. Something on the page must be the dominant eye catcher. If everything has the same level of importance, then nothing is important. Group items and information that belongs together using white space so that the eye knows they are together Alignment The alignment of elements on the page - both vertically and horizontally - is also very important. Choose one alignment and stick with it. That doesn't mean you have to align everything similarly, it means things should be aligned the same on the page.

Webpage content:- A webpage should not overwhelm the visitor with unnecessary animations, flash novelties or music. All these things can detract from the content of your page. If you want to present these things, do it on another page where you can isolate the full affect from other elements of the website or use them sparingly. Use white space to lead the eye around the page.

Rules of thumb: - In order for visitors to understand your site you need to follow a few more rules of thumb: Explain everything clearly and briefly Make sure you present information in a logical order Use plain language Dream Consultancy specialises in website design, web design, web application development, search engine optimisation, web hosting and domain name registration services.

Keyword popularity

Keyword popularity is the popularity of the search term that is keyword of web page. It is meant for the famous keyword which is inserted as the search term by thousands of surfers. The most important thing of the web site is keyword which brings business for you.

What you will do for keyword popularity?

The inspection of searches will turn as a helping hand for you to find the appropriate keyword for your web page. This inspection will give you the idea of mostly searched keywords. Some web sites are using the tools like “Word tracker” and “Keyword discovery” which tracks the keywords and indicates the number of hits for the keywords. For example the keyword “scrapbooking” has 799 searches. If you will select this keyword for your page, the keyword will target your page as well.

Apart from this the further suggestion is making use of combined as well as similar (synonyms) keywords which most of the time the surfer search for. After getting good number of relevant keywords give link to every keyword and optimize your page for those keywords.

Placement of keywords

This is all right that you have selected so many keywords for your web site, now it’s a time to place them on the right place of your web page. The first suggested place is Meta tags. In the HTML page there is Metatag for page title, page description and page keywords.

Metatag inserted in the title will be the first target of keyword popularity .Title describes the structure of the site. It catches the attention of search engine spiders. The second targeted place is page description where through description n of the site the keywords could be inserted in the HTML page. The third place is page keywords where you can insert all the keywords which you are about to use for your website.

The content of your web site is also the right place to insert keywords because it is supported with the main matter of the web page.

How to find relevant keyword?

Through the inspection of search engine and with the help of tools like word tracker we can get the key words but if you are fail to do so there are numerous web site and companies which provide keywords based on market scenario. So better is downloading the keywords from the web sites or companies.

How keyword popularity will support you?

After selecting the keywords you will optimize your site for those keywords. Once your page is cashed whenever that keyword say “Seoleaders” will be searched by the surfer your site page with those keywords will be viewed first. More page view will bring more sale of your product.

And thus in conclusion we can say the keyword popularity is the source to bring business to your doorstep.

Hi, this information is very interesting for me. Espesicially paragraph 3. Thanks

3) Factors that may count against you
a- Too much keyword repetition
b- Hidden content via text same color as background or CSS or other such methods
c- Javascript Redirects or certain other redirects
d- Cross linking bunch of sites to eac other in the same network
e- Doorway pages. Pages that are specifically written for search engines and cannot be found by your site visitors via your normal navifation menues.
f- PPC (SPAM/Casino) : Adult, Casino related content
g- Duplicate content : watch out for those duplicate filters. Make sure your site doesn't have content from other sites or no one else has copied you.
h- Age of your domain. Brand new or less than 6-month old domains may be in the Google Sandbox
i- Participating in Link Farms or services that try to artificially increase your links by doing shortcuts
j- Cloaking : Showing a page to search engines different than what the users see based on their IP address

IMO, the keywords that you choose to target through your Search Engine Optimisation campaign can be vital to your success at raising your online profile and improving your search engine results listings.

Targeting keywords with too much competition can mean that you waste time and money in the wrong area and choosing keywords which are so niche that they may not ever be typed into a search engine by a user will also cause your SEO campaign to struggle.
