Would anyone like to suggest any free directories which they particularly like for link building purposes? There are hundreds so it might be an idea to compile a list of directories which have actually added any link juice.

On the other hand the idea of using directories might be long dead.

I don’t think directories are dead; they are a great resource for building links for new sites. I search for SEO friendly directories on forums when I start a new site and try to submit to at least 200 directories in the first week, that way by the end of the month I have around 100 back links to start, and continue stronger link building techniques after that.

Are you talking free or paid? Paid directories are dieing for sure
Personally i prefer free directories such as seo-webtool .com, there is a great list of free high page ranked web directories @ cbarker .ws/pagerank-listings/

I like to prove a point on most projects, yes paid links is a quick way to do it but over a steady period you can still get the same effect all for free.

Here's one that I like: carleasingsecrets.com/car-leasing-directory/. I've been using this to link my sites. It's free and with PR too.

I have to agree with Danimal. Every time I create a new directory I make sure that I submit it to at least 500 directories. Use Forums such as Digital Point or info.Vilesilencer.com .VileSilencer have most certainly the cream of the crop where directories are concerned....sorry couldn't include URLs

Directories are definitely the great resource to build quality links provided they are seo friendly , have good listings and must have ood navigation structure as well.

I have my own list and I add all new directories announced on this forum, DigitalPoint and v7n forums. (PM me if you want the URL)

I particularly like clubftp, rankbl and yourjoker directories (they are not mine) :)
