I have a website and i placed some comments under a high PR5 page blogs with my website name ;where now yahoo has counted as backlinks from that blog pages but the main thing is that when i view the page source it shows that the link name along with "nofollow" tag added to it
but it is still has counted as backlink from that page under yahoo (where we search for backlinks as link:...)

the main thing is even getting links from high keywords yahoo still doesn't show my website for my targetted keyword under its any results (not even in the top 600)

is it all due to less backlinks and links from a nofollow blog

please tell me your thoughts!!

Yes. Yahoo! has always counted 'nofollow' links.

Google, Yahoo and MSN all see rel="nofollow" in the same way. They still follow the link but they wont include it in the link profile and therefore ranking of a site.

Ummm..... A link: search or linkdomain: search on Yahoo! will show "nofollowed" backlinks as well as normal ones.

Yes that's right. Yahoo and Google count the links. Even Google webmasters tools lists some of the no followed links too but they might not count the links.

I've heard some people say that now the search engines even rank based on a profile of nofollow vs. follow links. In other words if google sees a million follow links and only a few nofollow links then they will know something is up and rank you lower.

Anyone know if that is true?

yahoo crawl nofollow site, i think you should improve your link building method. get quality backlink and submit your site with high pr.

I think Google is the only one who actually pays attention to the nofollow attribute. Yahoo has always reported nofollow links as backlinks.

webbyguy I doubt Google would penalize a website for not having nofollow links. That wouldn't make any sense at all. I get good rankings and I avoid any nofollow links.

They still follow the link but they wont include it in the link profile and therefore ranking of a site.
It's right.
