I completely agree to both. It's better to come up with quality links meaning linkages with authority web sites. And also you need to have quality keyword-enriched content for your site with the right placement on the pages too, mind you. :)

I don't know about that. I think it might, although I maintain that too much is also not right. I only put my keywords in relevant places. Like when I write an article, I use my keyword in my beginning paragraph, somewhere in the middle of my article, and in the closing paragraph. At the very least, I put keywords on top and at the bottom. If allowed, I use anchor texts for better crawlability.

I think rank depend on your competition if competition is tough then back link is more valuable.

It's absolutely true that when ever user make search on any search engine then it's result totally depends upon keyword.There are many factors on which SERP as link building,meta tags,inbound links and outbound links,etc.
Apart from this the major and most important factor is "CONTENT":rolleyes:
With the good only content user can again and again visit the site.
So,at preliminary stage of site optimization make more concentration on quality content.
