Hello,

I was just wondering if anybody knew anything about the problem stated in the title? We're pretty much top ten on 80% on our keywords for yahoo.com, yet way worse on yahoo.co.uk. I don't really understand it, so if any of you have an idea, i'd be glad to hear it.

Thank you all for your help

Where is the site hosted?

Is your site a .com or .co.uk?

Do you have links from UK sites?

The site is hosted in the uk, with a .co.uk domain name. I don't think there are many UK links though, but surely it does consider the other IBL?

For geotargeting the search engines look at where your website is hosted and also where your backlinks are hosted. To make the search engines think that your website is a good resource for UK residents, you need links from some UK websites. Try getting links from uk forums, uk directories and uk blogs.

UK sites need to have more UK links than .com links, or it will be perceived to be a trojan horse masquerading as a UK property.
