Hi every one!
It's "tech+net+www" era and you should be able to cop up with the present scenario. As in case of traditional marketing(TM) every thing is dependent on the sales promotion strategy. And in TM it's very difficult to measure the effect of product add campaign on people.

But now a days internet marketing(IM) is more effective and reliable.Because it provides the facility of measuring the effectiveness of add on visitors.
The major advantage of internet marketing is "Competitor Analysis".
In case of traditional marketing it's tough to have knowledge of competitors strategy. It's possible to be break up the competitors tactics in IM by Competitors analysis.

Need Of Analysis
I am sure that every one wants to bit their respective competitor.
In case of traditional marketing(TM) it's not an easy task to keep track on competitors strategy.
But it's become easier in internet marketing(IM).Because it's possible to keep track on your competitor by using different tools.
So here are some major points to be followed while doing a competitor analysis-

1.First step is to analyze the no. of competitors for your product or services.
It's possible with the help of good search engines like Google, yahoo,AOL,etc.

2.Second step is to analyze the age of the competitors. So,as to have knowledge of different versions.

3.Third step is to analyze the in coming and out going links. So, as to know the quality of link building of competitors.

4.Now the final step is "meta tag analysis".It will be possilble with the help of "Rankquest tool".It's free and reliable competitors analysis tool.

I agree with that. You have to analyze also if the competitor of your site has authority web sites linked to them, also the number of links linked to them, the page ranks of the web sites linked to them. You can actually use a tool to do all those stuff. :)
