SEO for Video Search

I have been doing some background research on SEO for Video in Google Video, Youtube, and a bunch of other places. I have been noticing a small minority of people that appear to be optimizing for select things to obtain recognition and traffic for there videos. Sometimes even if the user is never required to visit there website.

I appears a lot of younger people, while being one, those that are still in high school, college, and so on dominating this space with videos that catch the interest of a lot of people. Some are so simple and viewed so many times by other peoples its kinda amazing that they can achieve such success with such little effort besides turning on the camera and doing something funny or artsy. Other is raw video, video clips from tv shows, and many others.

I wanted to see if anyone else was using the verticals of Video to get media out to be viewed by people for traffic generation and possibly revenue from advertising sources? Any success with it? Recommended methods?

I already know what is in the article. I was looking to see alternative ways people were doing and get reasons beyond them wanting to SEO a piece of video media. Like is it worth it?

I'll be keeping my eyes on this thread too. That article was a collection of points that Bill and I were discussing one day back in Havre de Grace.

One serious suggestion (forgive me if this is offensive) is to ping some people in the porn site industry in some of those porn marketing forums. Given the usual results I get in some video search engines, those guys are doing one heck of a job.

Are you asking if having a video on video.google.com will help as another link to your site?

Or are you asking how do you get your video scene on video.google.com more often or at all? (if the later then read below for my lame analysis)

I've submitted several videos to google and currently it doesn't seem that the search feature on there pulls from any of the information except the title you give the video. I've done searches on specific terms I've used on the descriptions of the video and for some reason google wont pull it up. I've done searches on the people who've created it and the website address and I still can't get my videos to show up in the small list of videos even though that information is listed on there.
