Whats your opinion on cuil? its a new search engine created by former google employees, it has twice as many pages indexed as google. Apparently it judges sites on internal SEO not links.

Do I believe that their algorithm is based around internal SEO or that they have 121,617,892,992 pages indexed?

I actually navigated to this forum subsection to see opinions on Cuil.com - I noticed a few hits in my webstats today from them and upon browsing through thier index for a few of my sites (and some competitors) I noticed thier results seem to be pretty relevant. Everyone touts every new search engine as a "Google Killer" and while I would not go that far, they do seem to display some pretty relevant results in the SERP's. I have read that they had some initial problems but those birthing pains are normal and with the pedigree of the people behind it, Cuil might very well make some inroads although at this point it's way too early to tell. Although apparently Google has taken notice as I also read they tried to aquire them already to no avail so if anything it will be interesting to see how it shakes out.

I'm not a huge fan of the 3 column layout, it more beneficial to appear 5th over 4th.

Funny you say that because I did not like the 3-column thing as well but from my limited look it did seem as though the results were fairly relevant which is my primary concern so I figured i would not haggle with the layout but I do agree with you.

Only time could tell if it will be able to match Google in terms of popularity and usage.

Overall I doubt it will be the "google killer"

i used it a week after it launched and it was terrible.

Apparently Cuil's indexing system is separated into data centers that deal with a particular area of expertise, for example one set deals with all fashion searches and one deals with health-care searches.

Cuil.com is really stupid. The input was the following keywords by me:
"Hotel Audit blogspot"

I got only one result: yahoo.com

Maybe the database of Cuil is twice than Google but I'm pretty sure it's twice asshole as Google ;)

NO. Cuil has a lot of cleaning to do and if ever they can compete with Google who knows but still Google is the king.
