The best way is to tell people about your site. Anywhere that you can, provide a sentence about your site and a link. Submit your site to EVERY social blogging/networking/bookmarking site. If your site is visually stunning, submit it to web design galleries. Find directories for the industry that your site covers and submit your site. Find similar sites/people to link to your site from theirs, offer a trade.
