Google, Spam and Big Companies

Now i just read on Phillips blog (http://blog.outer-court.com/archive/2006-02-01-n31.html) about how BMW spams with doorway pages the german serps. Now this is known since at least 3 months and has been discussed in the german Abakus Forum and plenty of people submitted spam reports according to there reaction on the forum...

Now a couple of weeks ago Mr. Cutts (http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/type/googleseo/page/2/) made very proud of himself an example of a german automobile site that is using spam and they got rid of it...

It obviously wasnt BMW, because they are still going strong and (way too big to get slammed in his blog?)...

p.s. dont get me wrong i love driving my beemer...

ok ok, Google didn´t treat BMW differently after all! (respect)
BMW.de is banned in Google now...
http://www.bmw.de/ has now pagerank 0 and is nowhere to be found...

heh heh... they probably hired one of those guys that never post in the forums, except to chase every poster who says he needs someone to optimize a site. So the sin was hiring someone who didn't know their stuff.
