Google is only showing 200 pages or so in its index for my domain, with only the 1st page actual listings and not just supplemental results. Can anyone tell me why this is? I was thinking it might be a dupe content penalty, but I'm not entirely sure.
Can I post a url here to check it out?

At one point I think I was up to 800 or so pages in Google, with at least a couple pages of full listings, so I'm not sure why I've been losing ground.
Also is there any way to track what pages of a site Google is indexing?
Thanks for any advice

Not looking all that great http://www.google.com/search?q=site:www.osidealive.com&hl=en&lr=&c2coff=1&start=110&sa=N
I got to run now, maybe someone else will take a look.

in most cases its dup problem, it looks like classic dup problem :) fix it, each page must have unique title, meta tags and content

Currently I have different titles and *slightly* different meta descriptions for different pages. Content is also different but in some cases only a small amount as the website is partly a listing service for local businesses, so in some cases the only difference between 2 pages will be the business name, address, and phone number:
example:
http://www.osidealive.com/entertainment/item/313/
http://www.osidealive.com/entertainment/item/286/
Unfortunately if a business doesn;t supply a description I can't change the content any more than that but I would really like these pages to be indexed nonetheless, so any suggestions would be welcome.
But what I'm equally concerned about is the fact that pages like this:
http://www.osidealive.com/local/do/surf/
http://www.osidealive.com/local/do/exchange/
http://www.osidealive.com/shopping/sub/Auto%20Parts/
aren't getting indexed when in fact they have different titles and content...
Incidentally is it really important to have significantly differing descripion metas? I though GOogle totally ignored them.
Thanks again for your time

well you need more content, i have just check this examples, from my experience its classic dup problem becose you don't have enough unique content on this pages
I though GOogle totally ignored them.
but you can see meta description in serps right?:)

O well - I guess I'll just have to hope for the best. Some of the pages I admit are kind of directory pages but I personally don't see anything wrong with that. If someone is looking for "restaurants in Oceanside" I don't see why they wouldn't want to see a list of restaurants instead of having to go through individual restaurants 1 by 1. In any case my SERPS for some pages is fluctuating so who knows where I'll be next week.
