I never seen this before, try searching for a name preceded by 'name:'
e.g
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=name%3Amike&btnG=Search
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=name%3Afred&btnG=Search
The first result links to sources of the name in what seems to be user profiles on communities. Makes no sense to me.

NevDull pointed out to me that
http://www.google.com/search?q=name:fred
is the same as
http://www.google.com/search?q=name%20fred

For which you called me angry! :tsk:
The "out of X results" bit is different depending on space or colon, though, and some results past the first several (though still first page) differed for some of the names I tried.

It will still shown different search results. The syntax NAME:Name is far different from NAME Name.
