my guess is that google is flashing back and forth between old and new data depending upon which computer responds to your querry... but things have been jumping around lately.

Well Google is implementing the new Big Daddy architecture. Updating about 1 datacenter every 10 days so you should start seeing Big Daddy results more frequently which would look like a dance since Big Daddy's results are significantly different.

BTW Google hasn't danced in about 2 years. :) There are PR and backlink updates but Google updates on the fly every 2 or 3 days.

Man oh man has it.

Our site has been jumping between 1st and 2nd page results for our main keywords and the boss is asking why...

I, unfortunately, don't have a great answer except a change in "Big Daddy."

I know Google runs off of different servers but we were experiencing different results from one office to the next.

I can't figure it out, anyone else? Could really use some input on this!

Even from one office to the next - the computers are probably hitting different datacenters. Heck, the same computer can hit a different datacenter each time. Tell your boss to chill and be patient. Stressing won't make it change.
