Hi Everyone
I've read quite a few of the threads regarding keyword optimisation
But there are still a few points I'm not clear on, and I'm hoping someone will be able to answer my questions
I've build myself a website which contains twelve pages, its a hobby website for people interested in old toy steam engines
I've run the google keyword tool as recommended on this forum, and it has turned up about sixty keywords
So my questions are:

Is it ok to put all sixty key words on all twelve pages, or is it best to divide the keywords between all pages say five keywords per page.

I would like to include manufacturer names in the keywords like "Mamod steam engine, Wilesco steam engine, Jenson steam engine"
Do I need to include the word "steam engine" only once or is it best to add it several times.

Also is keyword optimisation a case of more is less, as in just five or six keywords better than sixty or seventy.

Thx for helping a newbie out
Mike

It is best to target a single keyword phrase per page, imo.

Well keywords which you want to target will only be helpful if you have a proper content targeting that keywords on that page, and I would suggest not to use more than 10 keywords in one page.

As far as selecting the keyword is concerned , instead of targeting all the keywords I would advice you to use the keywords which have good search volume with less competition this will get you much more traffic than targeting 60 keywords and getting no results.

In short try to get keywords with good search volume and try to optimize your content accordingly.

yes instead of targeting all keywords u should use only the specific keyword relevant to that page.

Repetition of the same keywords again and again can also sometimes harms

i agree to sagar2121 that instead of targeting all keywords u should use only the specific keyword relevant to that page. this will help your site, but do't forget to also use your longtail keyword

Keyword plays a big role in the SEO industry..Target the keyword/s that is relevant to your site or to a page of your site..Google Adwords can help you in targeting keywords for your site, you can see there the number of search of a keyword..

adwords really help your keyword research but remember that this is generated by the Search engines, consider what will the users think in searching. you can also check the keywords of your competitor.

Keyword research is the most important part of successful search engine optimization, without this base you may be wasting your time and resources. Related keyword research should be the foundation of your optimization.

There are two main aspects to keyword research. The first is popularity, how often are keywords actually searched for.

The second aspect to keyword research is competition research. Competition research starts with analyzing your web pages to determine how competitive your site is both in general and for specific keywords.

Hope that will help!

I would say to devide the keywords up with the 12 pages. I think thats the way to go right there.

LOL How nice. Your first post on a SEO forum is an advertisement for another SEO forum. One - if I might add - that is so large and often off-topic that people will almost certainly get lost there. Why not try Gaia forums (http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/) instead?

I like DigitalPoint also. I am actually the #2 member there, right behind Shawn Hogan who is the owner.

Well I think DP's forum is a great achievement, but I would NEVER point a SEO newbie there. For example: this forum right here has far superior focus IMV.

I agree, and I think Shawn would agree also. :)

I just gave him an advice, because I often find much good info at DP. If you don`t want (or can`t) use DP - I don`t force you...

the easiest way for a beginner is to use google adwords you will get good results because you only pay for the words you choose

Hi Mike,

I think it is difficult to target sixty or seventy keywords at once. The idea is not bad to use keyword by dividing i.e. 5 keywords for each page. The benefits from this technique is that you can create a chance to include each page of your site in top ten results for specific keywords.
