Keyword Stacking is all about repeating the same keywords over and over again hidden in your visible HTML, invisible layers such as the <noframes> tag, and in your meta-tags. Repeating keywords over and over again by displaying them at the bottom of your document after a number of line breaks counts as well.

Keyword Stacking is containing the same word or term, or maybe several words or terms that is repeated over and over again..Often in hidden areas on the page (such as the <KEYWORD> tag), though sometimes visible to visitors..This is one of the earliest and crudest forms of a dirty deed, one that the SE have been aware of for years..

Placing gibberish sentences and phrases on a web page in order to artificially boost keyword density, keyword prominence, and keyword proximity. Keyword stacking often occurs in title tags, meta tags, and invisible text.

"Keyword stacking" is "keyword stuffing" they both have the same poor affect on websites SER.
There are several methods of keyword stuffing. One way is to insert repeating keywords within the input type="hidden" field meta tag or the keyword tag so that the keywords are not seen by the user but are scanned by the search engine.
Another way is to make text in the body of the Web page invisible text, or hidden text, by making the text the same color as the page’s background, rendering the text invisible to the user unless the user highlights the text. This method is called invisible keyword stuffing
But they are blackhat, so don't do that!

It is not a good method to promotion someone's site, several years ago, if you add enough keyword in your meta, you could have a good position on search engines, but now if you do that, google will thought you use the blackhat,it is not well for your site.

Yes, if you get "black hatted" or better yet, "black hat" yourself you will pay the price. It's often better to keep it authentic and good for human readers, more times than nought if you write for humans you will come out on top of the bunch. I use Site build It, and they taught me as much as any school could, but you have to be prepared to learn like school too,lol...Makes money.

Difference is that keyword stacking related with title tags, meta tags, and invisible text but keyword stuffing is also related with visible text

Keyword stacking and stuffing are concept but expressed in two different terminologies. Why to stack words when we can actually use a bit of common sense and provide the stuff that people actually look for. I think it is definitely extra-ordinarily important to be #1 (or at least close to #1) for all relevant keywords. Personally, I think that using Google SEO to obtain a good ranking boils down to doing two things well.
#1. It’s crucially important to know what people are looking for. All the Google SEO in the world won’t do you any good if you optimized your website for “plastic surgeon “ and then realize that people are actually searching for cosmetic surgery.
#2. I think the second most important thing is to get the content right. I see so many websites that don’t have any good content. All the links in the world aren’t going to do you any good unless you have content.

Blackhat gonna hurt u in the end! Don't do that, by the way, even google didn't regard Keyword as a ranking factor any more!
