I know a few of your from digitalpoint and seochat, nice too see some people posting somewhere after all the fallout at seochat. Nice to see SER finally has a forum to post in now. :D

Anyway, I was wanting to get some opinions on SEOElite and if it's worth the $167 price tag being asked for it. I tried the demo sometime back and thought it was decent, but it didn't win me over enough to go out and purchase it. I know most SEO veterans don't use it but wanted some feed back none the less. Thanks in advance!

If it didn't win you over the first time, it probably won't after you pay for it either. I dunno...it's ok...I used it for maybe a week, and never touched it again. Don't have anything bad to say about it, but it just didn't make me want to keep using it either. That may be laziness on my part, however. :)

It's a good link exchange tool, but an even better SEO analysis tool.

I bought SeoElite and the new Keyword Elite a few weeks ago .
My opinion is that these programs are not so good (and don't work so well) as Brad show us in his website.

I suggest you to try web ceo (you can get a free version), it is a very professional and powerfull tool.

I agree on WebCEO, it is excellent - helped me get to grips (finally) with keywords and it's fairly simple to use. I trialled Webposition Gold and it drove me nuts! I did look at SEO Elite and I would go for that if there was no free alternative

As much as I know there is no SEOElite trial/free version available

I started with WebCEO free edition but I upgraded to the SmallBiz Unleashed.
that Includes Professional Training and PSEM certification and I'm going quite well.. by the way you can see my certification on-line :D

I use both. Mainly for the reporting features. Never liked SEO Elite.

I bought and have used SEO Elite for about 1 year now and it is quote definitely NOT worth the money.

1 or 2 of the tools kind of work but the rest are just plain junk. All of the link exchange tools barely work if at all and are totally outdated. The "Check if your partners are still linking back" tool tries to completely spider every 'exchange partner' you have which also ends up crashing after several hours, the "submit your link" tool just tries to find pages with the "Submit your url" text on them, etc.

The check your rankings tool returns results that are just WRONG and tries to draw a graph of your progress which is so badly programmed that the line on the graph goes off the page altogether. SEO friends have recommended WPG but I've never tried it so I can't give a good rundown of that tool.

I think most SEO tools have a limited about of usefulness for the webmaster doing SEO. Some of them don't respond quick enough to changes in the engines and are mainly good for only reporting and link building capabilities. Most of the information those program can give you, you can get for free with many of the SEO tools out there. I have never been a fan of SEO stand-alone programs. There is a lot of hype out there. Usually the best are advanced analytic tools that can give you concrete data to work with over time to draw conclusions and look for oppourtunities.

I've pretty much come to the same conclusions since starting this topic. The feedback from everyone is appreciated though. :)

This appears to be a dead thread but what the heck.

I use both SEO Elite and Keyword Elite and find them very useful in tracking a pages position and what needs to be done to the on page factors to help rankings.

It's DEFINITELY been a good investment for me.

best regards,

Jim

As with all tools, they help you understand what you are doing or should be doing. But this tool is for beginners.

The issue though is that these tools use "automated" routines that are now causing Google and the other SE to block their use.

Google also has said that they are going to penalize sites that use automated tools.

Your comments make me think you are confusing SEO Elite with another tool.

Having a tool that allows me track multiple pages' SERP positions on a daily basis and allows me to schedule it to run unattended at 5 in the morning is a huge time saver.

Being able to find "authority sites" that are linking to the top 10 pages for a particular key word or phrase comes in extremely handy when determining a list of high page rank sites to get links from.

Being able to determine "pages indexed" and "back link status" within the same tool is very convenient, although I do not use these two features as much.

The tool works well for me, whatever you may think of it.

best regards,

Jim

Used it and still using it. Great simple tool to use. Makes link building much easier than just doing it without it. You can get the similar job without it by using Yahoo Site Explored with combination of iWebTools. You can get all the plugins for the FireFox that will do everything SEO Elite does for free.

I have trouble buying software with the endless "buy or die" landing page. It smacks of the old pyramid scheme programs. If they want to let you try it for 7 days, why not offer a free download up front? I prefer Web CEO for site analysis, several free tools, and Niche Bot.

Thanks to all.
