For the last five months, I've been part of a Silicon Valley startup called Upstartle, which makes Writely, a collaborative word processor that runs in a web browser. Well, as of Monday, I'm happy to say that I, and the rest of the Writely team, are now part of Google.

Here is an interesting post about what Google's intentions might be with Writely:

Why charge a user a one time for a service when you can run ads on the software and have a continuous stream of income??? If a user pays for the service than Google has to take the ads off.
Funny how yesterday the news was about a $90 mil bill and today its about them buying someone.. ummm..
PR machine is working hard to distract ;)
