Haven't seen this presented in this way before, does that mean that PR5 in like 100,000 time better than PR0?

While those may be the average amount of links that people have when they reach those PR's, there is more than goes into figuring out PR than just the number of incoming links.

when you post something important like this , you need to provide the source. on what basis this has been calculated. why should one trust this calculation. I'm not questioning the accuracy of the data, if you provide the source of the data, one can decide whether the calculation is trust worthy or not?

The average links according to the PR that you have shown here is appreciating but, above all there should not be too many backlinks otherwise, it will consider spam and will not get evaluated by Google.

Google values quality links and the links which are not relevant has been removed by Google.

It is like, getting the links from high PR sites that are relevant for getting results. So that, there will not be any problem for google and other search engines to crawl the appropriates links.

number is not important here. how many quality back-links you have is much important than how many number of back links.
