Hello. I'm here to announce a new keyword research tool. It works like analytics software in that it uses the data off of your own site to make the recommendations, identifying which terms are "almost working for you", helping you tweak them up to the surface. It's made primarily to help with natural search optimization, and has an Ajax interface to make list management easier.

This is also a comment on the search engine round table advanced keyword research tool post (http://www.seroundtable.com/archives/003401.html). I don't want to link drop, so if you're interested, PM me or google on my name or the tool name. If the Round Table folks say it's OK, I'll give the link here.

I'm a big fan of the long tail. Looks like a tool with real promise. Unfortunately the demo does nothing when i try it (using FF). The status bar finishes, but it never displays anything.

You have to wait for the first search hit to occur before anything shows. We have to make the message more useful while there's nothing in there! But that's why it's beta. But it's very stable. It's a matter of refining features and messaging. We do have to fix a Mac incompatibility, but FF should be fine. I'll check out your site and try to generate a search hit.

Ah, I just realized you were talking about the demo. The Flash demo on the main homepage, or by logging in as Connors?

hmmm...never even saw a place to enter a site. Just when i go to the demo page, it does that. Is there someplace to enter a url that i missed?

Thanks, dazzlindonna! I also fixed the problem with the flash demo. I left off some JavaScript functions. Just published the flash/PowerPoint yesterday! I've got to put a high bandwidth warning in, but it should be good to go.

5 minutes into using it, and I'm already hooked - and already addicted.

Mike,

I have been using it for about 12 hours now, but i don't see anything under the suggestion tab yet.

Hi drumat5280,

Do you see anything under the search hits tab or the keywords tab?

If it's nothing under ANY of them, I have an ajax issue to troubleshoot. If it's just the suggestions and todo tab, then it's another issue.

Also, there will never be anything under the ToDo tab until you move them from the Suggestions tab (which I understand you can't do if it's empty).

Let me know. Thanks.

Mike

Mike,

I see it working now.

For my type of site it is not giving me any valuable info.

Thanks anyway.

Drum,

No problem. The usefulness might vary based on the type of the site. Discovering that sort of thing is what the beta is about. I ask that you let it run for a few days more to see if anything unexpected and insightful actually appears in suggestions.

Me too. Now I spend all day jumping bac-and-forth between my log analyzers, mcdar dc checker, google analytics and forums.

All I need now to complete the group is a one-armed bandit!
