Generally, paid traffic is useless traffic. I don't have experience with ihitz so I can't comment on them specifically, but most often, paid traffic is a waste of money.

I have to agree..

But as SERT sponsor are these guys credited or just about $$$?

This might be taken as cheeky but its goes with the debate of "who should we link to"..

Hi this is Scott from ihitz.net.

It's a risky move advertising for a traffic campaign on an SEO site, wouldn't you say, there are some awfully big hammers on this site. LOL I just wanted to make the traffic available to those who may desire this type of service.

The truth is, our traffic genuine and unique, but I'm not here to vouch for ihitz. I'm here to just join in the thread that I saw.

I have learned alot from some of the conversations that I read. Especially some of the developing differences between Google and Msn Live, relevance of keywords in tags or content etc.

There are different goals for different sites and different types of campaigns to achieve those goals, but here goes.

I personally feel that popup or under, clicking clubs, pay to click, black hat click initiators are all junk traffic. It works for some sites..... but more on that later.

Most of those click club campaigns are generating only page views and not interested buyers or viewers of the content. There was a program called 12dailypro that rewarded members for viewing 12 sites per day. I'm sure the site owners webalizer reflected all the new traffic but ultimately would be dissappointed in the quality of the conversions.

What we do at www.ihitz.net and www.killerflow.com is redirect traffic from 40,000 expired domain names that we own. Consisting of every imaginable target and category. Essentially, when someone types in or clicks or an expired domain name link we redirect them to one of our relevant customer sites. sports for sports, fashion for fashion. It works very well.

OK, now back to the disclaimer at the top.

If you are wanting to impress someone with your traffic count only or to quickly brand your product then you may be more interested in the pay to click campaigns. example: You want verizon to place an ad on your site but your total traffic isn't where they like to see it, some owners would look to the types of traffic campaigns listed at the beginning of this article to artificially boost traffic numbers. I would think ultimately this would bite you back as the numbers are going to prove themselves out eventually.

So as I indicated above it depends on the goals of the site. Most people are looking for real visitors. Mainstream traffic or targeted traffic from www.ihitz.net would be far better that the other type.

OK, I hope I answered your question with keeping the self promoting plugs to a minimum

I would be careful of paid traffic as well. Often the quality of such traffic is low and with quite low conversion rates. Moreover the same time and resources can be spent to hie someone to do a few hours of manual search engine optimisation work for your website. It may take longer for traffic to build but in the long run it will be much more beneficial.

it could be good for those website owner who is running their website with CPM based advertising. Good traffic may increase click rate.

Paid traffic work only when it is targetted. for example if you sell SEO tools, traffic from this forum should help....my 02 cents

At Vertical Measures, we refer to paid traffic as renting the house, whereas, investing in SEO is buying the home. I can think of some situations where PPC would be a good, viable option. But it most cases, you're going to get better long-term results with SEO and link building.

not only useless and a waste, but more often than not, it can be pretty humbling and expensive too! plus you have to monitor it constantly.

sorry, not for me too.

The hugest pitfall of ther buying traffic is that they are highly untargeted, so what's point of the quick flowing traffic to your site????
