Anyone know of a good way to get alot of One Way links?
You email people asking them to link to you..
Ask all your mates..
Or even pay from them e.g. Text Link Ads (http://www.text-link-ads.com/?ref=11533)

To get one way links, submit your site in directories, prepare blog, and submit articles. Also use targeted keywords in your content. All these points will help you in getting one way links.

They are easiest way, but this lists are list with crap directories and MFA directories. Best directories for me are always national & niche directories, they give traffic and in most cases they are very very old :).

I agree, but they are difficult to find... ;)

A technique which is now useful is not stressing too much on the PR of the link, but the quality of it, the way the website has been designed, and more important the age of the website.
Websites dating back to 2000 and before are really golden mines to establish a link to, either through purchasing or two ways, or in some cases one way, like the older article submission websites with static HTML pages.:)
There's a new website called http://www.publishyourkeyword.com that offers an inexpensive way to purchase one way links. They offer annual subscriptions to keyword pages. You get to write the content so you can create a relevant link to your website.

One way links are generated by only directories. But how to know whether a directory is good or bad ? Does it have any impact on the rankings of a site.

In my experience submiting to all directories is good, submit to hundreds of them and then submit to some more, where ever possible make sure that you place the main search phrases that you are targeting in the anchor text or title that links to your site. If you do this you will almost certainly see an increase in your search engine rankings!

Should I consider any paid directories? Are any worth the cost?

I recently signed up for the Yahoo directory and it definatly had a big impact on my Yahoo rankings, I think it is a good buy.
http://www.octopedia.com
Is a good buy, $25 dollars for life and you get 8 links to two different websites, it is a PageRank 7 directory and many of the pages have PR5!
If you are in America I would sign up for SBD.bcentral.com it's only $49 a year and it is a PR8 directory, I would have signed up for this myself but they won't let me because I am not based in the US.
There are many other good paid directories out there too, look at the PageRank of the page that you are going to be placed on and don't pay too much for them!

Yahoo paid directory listing is an authority high quality link and is even recommended for higher Google ranking as well.
The reason is quite clear, when you are going to pay $299 for a yearly link, you should love your website and care about it and so Google observes you as an honest and professional webmaster.

Sweet, I like the Octopedia directory! Hmm, still debating if I can justify the $299 annually for my small site for the Yahoo directory.

Iv'e just signed up for http://www.botw.org $75 per anum or $149 one off, a good buy, I'm also going to be signing up for search monster 50 directories for $149 a year bargain!

If you care about your site in a monetary sense, Yahoo Dir is worth every penny, It will often help you more on Google then on Yahoo. Plus Yahoo just announced there will be a NO DIR.YAHOO tag soon available so that we don't sacrifice our title tags in Yahoo either after being listed in their Dir.
Botw.org is worth every penny, so is uncoverthenet.com, so is incrawler.com,
octopedia is awesome use all links they allow to get deep links, also sbd.bcentral is a must in the US.
Site-sift.com is worth the money, Joeant is worth it (you can become an editor too to contribute and save money).
And as a rule I have been able to squeeze the most juice out of directories, if I always submit to the page that has the least amount of other sites being listed. Even over PR. Make sure though that the page is cached and indexed in Google and not supplemental or you are waisting your time.

The best way for getting good backlinks are article submissions. I heard a link builder raised his site from PR 0 to PR 6 in just 3 months just by doing article submissions. Also its a nice way of getting many secondary links as well.
Forum signature is a good way for one way link building.

The first question is: Do you want links with PR attached?
The answer is yes. All of the idea presented do not pass PR to your site. Even the major directories do not pass PR to you because there are so many other links on the page.
Good page rank comes from good content that other people will link to. Create it and then submit it to everyone you can find. Just don't forget to add you link.

The major part of SEO is finding where you can get quality links. Directories are the starting point. DMOZ is a great source, but what about http://musicmoz.org/ , http://chefmoz.org/
or how do you get into an organization like http://www.mozilla.org/.
These sites are great foundations for links but... the professional SEO will also take their client base and safely link them together.
Or talk to the president of your client site. They have other investors who own web sites as well. Get them to link together.
Remember, short term links have no value. If the link is not there 1 year from now, it has no value.
Question, what do you have to offer someone for a link?

I suggest you can submit them to the directories but i don't agree on buying it. There are many free directories.
Agreed to you aimhigh! :)
Why would you spend money if there are lots of free directories that are good as the paid ones

Blog posts and forum entries are good places to get one way back links in signatures provided they are no follow forums and blogs. Please be careful not to spam just to get back links. As long as you make valuable contributions to the discussions then thats is a good technique.

I think forum, blog posts, articles and press releases are all good ways to get one way. Articles and press releases take more time than most other search engine optimisation tasks but they are distributed in more than one place so in the long run it works out well. I am in no way advising on spamming but there is no harm in getting valuable back links via meaningful participation in forums and blogs. I spend an hour a day on forums where I try and participate by sharing my views. The back links I get for my websites as a return certainly adds value to any time spent.

Directories links are low quality and google might filter most of them. So, It is better to get links from blog posts, article submission ( unique in each directory), forum posting ( inside posts and signatures), Blog commenting ( inside comments and author name), Squidoo, Hubpages, Blogger, Wordpress, VOX.com, Weebly.com, Blogs.com are also good platforms to get few quality backlinks from authorty sites.
