Anyone used it lately?
http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/
They now look a little like Google Sitemaps, but I can't see any useful functions...

I can't see at Google Webmaster Central tool for BL :).

You can check & track lots of domains with updated version. Here are some stuff what they did:

I have used the "authenticate site" feature and i have no idea how long it has been there, but 1 week after i did it i started to rank for keywords i was not ranking for prior. Idk if it was the actual authentication process, or just good timing. Anyone else try the site authentication out and what were your results?

I've been using the yahoo site explorer to know the backlinks of the site. Is it a correct method.

I use Site Explorer every day for my clients. Here's my favorite process...

First, I pick a top-ranking website (competitor) for one of my client's key phrases. I run them through Site Explorer to see their backlinks. Then I export the top 50 or so into an Excel spreadsheet -- one of the best features of Y.S.E. Then I add a column called "actions" to the right of each link. Finally, it's just a matter of going link by link and finding out if that's a link opp for my client or not. I annotate the "actions" column as I go.

The way I see it, why spending hours or days looking for links when the top-ranking websites will tell you where to find all the good links? :D

The real good thing about Yahoo Site Explorer is that the backlinks are listed just one by one and it's updated everyday at a fast speed.
