Guys...reached 1st page in 14 days. I stopped working on the website some 6 months back and till now its at #2 position on google.com/co.uk. The competition is somewhat low but if we stopped working on the website, it doesn't loose its position? Please clarify.

It depends on your keywords. More details are required but yes if the competition is low and not many people are building links for that keyword then you will be at the top position.

Its more than likely to drop if you stop "working on it", not always but more likely..

Surely, your keyword is low competitive, and competiors for this keyword are small

it might be possible that people are really interested your service or product or your website have no healthy competitors that's why it is still ranking well on the google.co.uk

It depends on your website keyword competition,if competition is low then position of keyword should be fixed or narrow change.

You have to search in Google keyword tool and if the competition is null then no doubt it is the only reason that your keyword stuck remains the same possession.

it depends. maybe your competitiors are not so strong and you will never down, but even you 're working hard but you will fall down if they are too strong, with 100000+ links or original contents more better than you.
