Default Jennifer Convertibles Delisted From Google

Jennifer Convertibles is a long time client of mine, we built their site a long time ago (like over 5 years ago) and now we are in the process of redesigning the whole site (yes it needs it). The site is located at http://www.jenniferfurniture.com/

The other day, I was told it was not ranking at all for its name

    http://www.google.com/search?q=jennifer%20convertibles

So I looked into it and it was completely delisted

    http://www.google.com/search?q=site:...rfurniture.com

It turns out that someone hacked the server they are on (I do not run the server by the way) and hosted dhtml pages for any keyword phrase, such as

    http://www.jenniferfurniture.com/thi...n-hacked.dhtml
    or
    http://www.jenniferfurniture.com/no-...l-phones.dhtml

This is a real life example of one of the many reasons it is critical to keep your server and code safe from hackers.

I have also posted screen shots at Flickr:

    Wow Rusty

That happened to us some time ago, we got hacked and the F***er put links to all kinds of crap (spam, porn, viruses etc).

Luckily I caught it in time before anything happened (In Google) and restored the site etc.

people need to backup their website(s) regularly, you would be amazed at the amount of people who DONT back up their website.

I know a guy who makes over 100k (&#163 a year from his site and hasn't backed it up since 2005.....

Website owners please make sure you backup your website and also use strong hosting passwords.........

The site was not overwritten, it was just added to. :-)
