    Looks like Google are changing their trademark policies in the UK inline with the US/Canada.

    Affiliates will be pleased. My clients won't be though!...

    Well, its already kicked up a bit of a stir with some of my clients who have contacted me about this change because they are worried.

    It leaves them open to competitors bidding against their brand and naughty affiliates.

    It basically means they will have to pay extra attention to affiliate activites and also their own brand SERPS. I wrote about blackhat ppc methods previously which might be more of an issue.

    In some cases where advertisers are not currently running ads against their brand, they may well have to simply for protection.

    We have always been quite lucky in the UK compared to you guys, so it will be interesting to see how much this will effect advertisers. From my perspective, this change is a suprise and not welcome!.
