    XML feed in terms of a product data feed? Can you be more specific.

    XML is basically a file format. Just like CSV, TXT, DOC, XLS and so on.

    No, it really doesn't help much.

    You can either use XML to feed data into your database from (in your case) a merchant. Which helps you have fresh, up to date content for your end users.

    Or you can offer an XML feed for others to syndicate your content, which helps get your pages out.

    I am currently researching xml feed. It is a very popular topic. A lot of the information about xml feed is very technical.hopefully you can explain to me in plain english how do affiliates going about adding or using xml feed? Does xml require a certain type of webpage? or is it available for any affiliate regardless of their webpage.

    hmm..
    First is first.. This is an example of xml http://news.search.yahoo.com/news/rss?p=xml&c=&eo=UTF-8

    In this case its the latest news on xml from yahoo..

    So as a webmaster you can add this info to your site..

    HOW?
    Well you need website with php ASP etc.. Then you can take the feed from yahoo and parse it..
    Function for php : http://uk2.php.net/xml
    A good tutorial: http://www.sitepoint.com/article/php...arsing-rss-1-0

    So thats that..

    When is comes to affiliates its works just as barry said .. Up to date info slammed stright into your DB..

    xml = content.. = syndication..

    Large volume affiliates who require search result listings or listings that require full customization can use our Premium XML Search feeds. Average bids are over 20 cents CPC net to the affiliate.
