    Default 'Helpful' spam email

Had a little chuckle when this arrived in my inbox.

I visited your site today (which is where I got your email address) and
    it's a great site.

    I hope I don't sound like a Know-It-All, but I have just a few ideas.
Please, if these are things you have already done then please disregard
this email. First, list your site in the www.dmoz.org directory. This
is without question the most important step when desiring more traffic
    to your site.
Dmoz is an open directory, which means many other directories get their
content directly from dmoz, so being listed in dmoz is like being
    listed in many web directories.

My second suggestion is to get listed in www. searchmonster .org. They
also have an open directory (though smaller) that is used in many other
websites, but they also have many other tools you can use to promote
your site (take advantage of those).

Both of these directories have free listings, but searchmonster offers
a premium listing for a one-time fee of $39.95. You should read about
the extras offered when getting the premium listing and decide if it's
right for you (I recommend it). They now include a free Pay-Per-Click
banner ad when you sign-up (loaded with 1,000 clicks).

Third, become a member of a webmaster forum like www.webmasterworld.com
. You will find great resources to help in your endeavors. Learn what
other website owners are doing to drive traffic to their site.

Fourth, remember that you never get a second chance at making a first
impression. When a visitor comes to your site, they make an immediate
decision if this site deserves a second click. If you are looking to give
your site a fresh new look or you have a need for professional and
personalized assistance then you should visit www. kinkeadweb .com and read
    about their services.

I sincerely hope this will be of assistance to you.

    Keep up the good work,
    David

Ha. This is one of the oldest internet tricks in the book to get someone to buy your stuff. You basically lump your sites with others to make it seems like the person is missing out if they are not in search monster and dmoz. Its kinda like a package deal, riding on the reputation of others to push there own site. The price is also suspect. $39.95 is greedy for a directory listing in an unfamiliar directory. Promises of 1000's of hits, is also suspect.
