content directly from dmoz, so being listed in dmoz is like being

My second suggestion is to get listed in www. searchmonster .org. They
also have an open directory (though smaller) that is used in many other
websites, but they also have many other tools you can use to promote
your site (take advantage of those).

Both of these directories have free listings, but searchmonster offers
a premium listing for a one-time fee of $39.95. You should read about
the extras offered when getting the premium listing and decide if it's
right for you (I recommend it). They now include a free Pay-Per-Click
banner ad when you sign-up (loaded with 1,000 clicks).

Third, become a member of a webmaster forum like www.webmasterworld.com
. You will find great resources to help in your endeavors. Learn what
other website owners are doing to drive traffic to their site.

Fourth, remember that you never get a second chance at making a first
impression. When a visitor comes to your site, they make an immediate
decision if this site deserves a second click. If you are looking to give
