How can I promote my site?

Hey guys,

Ive been working on a website for ages now and apart from couple of things on there, its pretty much completed.

My website is a video sharing website built for artists or any creative person that has a show reel. For instance, if you are an animator or director and would like to share your film to the world my website offers this services.

I have just offically launched it today and I need some feedbacks and some advice how I can promote it?

Review your SEO metatags to make sure that there are no spamdexed entries or duplicate, loaded entries. For example, it's correct to use keyword entries which are plural or compound variations, i.e., game currency instead of games currencies.

directory submission
forum posting

SEO helps promote a site. Its what we call the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic of a website on search engines via organic search results on targeted keywords.
Just remember to do On-Page (title tags, meta tags, alt tags, description, keywords, h1/h2 tags) first then Off-Page Optimization (blog commenting, forum posting, article submissions, classified ads, press release, online groups and social bookmarking).

The cheapest way to promote your site is to do SEO by yourself. But you can also outsource this job to professionals but in this case you'll pay for their services.

After SEO, Social Media would be a good area for you. Bonding with artists/people who you're looking to attract and let them know what your service has to offer them.

Since you have a video site, maybe you can use youtube as a source of getting the word out by making interesting videos that appeal to your target audience

Create a blog with a sub domain. I agree with boomie with posting videos on youtube. If you have money go with Google adsense.
