One thing that can be said about copywriting is that works for suitable websites and for suitable search terms (keywords). Copywriting can achieve rankings that tend to do well across the search engines, although no page can do equally well in all search engines. If 2 pages are in the top 10 search results; one getting there by the copywriting method and the other by different search engine optimization techniques, they are both there because they match the engine's criteria (algorithm) quite well. When the criteria is changed, the match that each of them had is necessarily changed. Whether each page goes up or down in the results depends on what changes have been made to the engine's criteria. It is a matter of chance and not a matter of whether copywriting was used or not.

I am considering purchasing SEO copywriting in hopes of increasing my website's current google search ranking. I am looking for some opinions on what others feel about SEO copywriting and what not to do when hiring copywriting.

SEO copy writing is important no doubt. But a copy or content is worth of value if it is informative and pleasure to read. It may may not follow SEO rules but still have value in SEO. The time spend and no. of visitors adds a good score in google. So quality of the content is more important than SEO rules followed or not.
