Thread: Yahoo Updates - Officially

  1. Post Yahoo Updates - Officially

    http://www.ysearchblog.com/archives/000275.html

We completed an index update over the weekend. As a result, you may see some changes in ranking as well as some shuffling of the pages that are included in the index. You might also be seeing a temporary spike in crawler activity. As these things go, all this should stabilize in the near future. Meantime, if you have any comments about the new index, please let us know.

IMO Yahoo Search is very very poor. I search for my main domain word (which it has indexed) without the www and .com and it can't even return my site first. In fact I appear numerous pages down. I'm listed in their directory as well. No wonder they are losing ground fast.

Anybody have any thoughts on this update. Seems like some sites are completely random and others are for a lack of a better word, useless. In terms of authority, seeing more sites that are owned by govt agencies for keyphrases that are educationally based. Do quality links still count in Yahoo?

Does anyone know if the Yahoo update is complete?
