Default Is Yahoo! Web Search Losing Its Fire?

Where has all the forum buzz gone in terms of Yahoo! Web Search?

I wrote a blog entry on it and would love your thoughts...

Don't know Barry but my thinking is that Yahoo has put such an emphasis on Social Media and Social search with Answers, Del.icio.us, Local, Flickr and MyWeb that perhaps their direction is still puzzling the SEO community, which lashed out negatively against Yahoo during that whole "Yahoo taking a second seat to Google episode".

Loren, but that is great, they announced some new products. But the way they are reaching the "buzz community" (the forums) seems to be lacking these days....

Where is Tim Mayer these days?

It's a shame, really, that Google gets all the press. Yahoo does some very interesting things (often much more interesting than Google). And while the traffic isn't as great as Google, it is substantial (for me at least). I think it's just the old high-school-popularity thing at play. It's cool to be friends with Google, and to gossip about Google, and you're just a nerd if you hang out with Yahoo. (or something like that).

Tim doesn't even seem to be on YSearchBlog anymore.

    Is this him?

What about YahooSarah and YPN, is she still around or are they trying to direct all the action to their YPNBlog?

YahooSarah and YPN is still out there doing their thing. Just Tim, I know he recently had a new kid.

Interesting… I noticed you also have sponsored links for the official website in all the search engines but MSN. Which engine delivers the most organic visits as a % of total? Is Yahoo! the most expensive as well as the lowest quality?

I also can’t believe another NY SEO company is bidding on your name in Google. Business Fruition Enterprises Inc.? Who the hell are they? Some people have no class.

    Aloha,
    Dave.

Yea, more people in the past bided on my name. Seems to pop up and down with those ads.

I don't really get my business from search engines - we charge too much for that, I think.
