Thread: Google Showing Locations Beside PPC Listings?

Default Google Showing Locations Beside PPC Listings?

What's this? I did a search for Sacramento LASIK and one of my clients showed up with some locations below the listing. So did some of the other listings.

I can only assume these locations are coming from the geo-targeted or radius campaigns that I run for them, but the strange thing is I was searching from half-way across the country. In other words, the listing that you see in the screen shot is from a national-level campaign!

Very interesting... It's the first time I've seen this.

I've seen it for at least a year. Happens often in NY.

    Thanks RustyBrick,

It's the first I've seen of it here in Colorado (although the term is a Sacramento location). I don't think it's a huge deal or anything, but I AM curious where they are pulling the info from.

That Sacramento LASIK term was from a national-level campaign that was put online from my IP address here in Golden, Colorado. The same account has a Geo-targeted and a Radius campaign, so the only thing I can think of is that they have taken info from one of those and applied it to the national ad group terms.

I have tried several searches for keywords in several cities and some have that localization under the ad and some don't. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to which ones get it, but then again I can't see into their campaign settings.

Maybe it only happens if the advertiser hsa a Geo-targeted campaign in the same account pointing to that domain.

Location targeting uses the query string as well as IP and domain name.
