I think the Original Poster was trying to say that click fraud exists, and yes it does. However, it's no reason to dismiss PPC as a highly effective advertising model.

The advertising programs do a reasonably good job of policing these invalid clicks. And anything they miss, they will reimburse you for when you provide documentation.

I think a good way to look at this is to use employees for hire as an analogy:

You can hire employees to work on an hourly basis and you will never get 100% effort from them for every minute you pay them. This doesn't mean that you should never consider hiring an hourly employee, it just means that you should have a minimum and reasonable performance level they know they must meet.

While you could hire employees on a commission basis you will generally be required to pay more for this type of employment arrangement.

It's equally silly to expect every minute of an employees time to be without distractions as it is to expect every click on you PPC ads to be from a sincere buyer.

Lets not be ridiculous about our expectations, PPC is not a ripoff, it's quite the contrary.

Click Fraud is unfortunately a cost of doing business..just like credit card fraud..do you stop using your credit card because of the thieves? As long as your conversions are being tracked and managed accordingly, its a great cost effective channel.

PPC fraud sucks. If you know how to track your ads and write them well, I think there is some good possibilities for revenues there. However, I am not very good at it and every time I use it I spend more money than I actually make.
