Hello members
Other than other webmasters paying you more for text links, what is the real value of PR going to be moving forward? As Google continues to tweak how they rank sites, just how much of a role will PR play? My blog for example, ranks 1-2 on Google for the primary subject matter across the board. It was ranked as PR4 but during the last update dropped to PR3. It's predicted to move back to PR4 during the next update but to be honest, I don't care! The site produces x,xxx range revenue and has a good amount of relevant, well written original content. For me I stopped caring about PR a while ago. Your thoughts, suggestions? Thanks in advance |

"has a good amount of relevant, well written original content. "
This is what is important. Dont go chasing PR, if you build a good site, with good content, the PR will build itself. |

Assuming you are good a viral marketing, headlines, getting dug etc...
If not, it may require a little more effort building backlinks / PR |

As you said, not much, especially your own site's PR does not help you much. The linking site's PR would matter.

I see lots of sites that rank quite well and have TBPR 1 or less. TBPR is just a green decoration for your toolbar. |

The Page Rank is only relevant if you intend togenerate revenue from other web folks. other than that I would be more worried about increasing traffic levels. Keyword relevance, and content are always king

The page rank doesn't have any significance. One should try to get decent traffic and higher SERP.

Concentrate on your content and links to your site. Your page rank will increase, but it is an unsignificant byproduct of good SEO

IMO, PR is not really important. it will only be relevant if you want to exchange links.
as they say, content is more important so, concentrate with it, |

PageRank is an indicator of the total weight of your incoming links.
Incoming link weight is one of the most important factors for search engine optimization. You may take the attitude that toolbar does not directly affect SERPS, and you'd be right. The speedometer does not affect your speed, your speed affects the speedometer. The toolbar is an indicator, not a factor. However, to take a more global view of link weight not mattering is ignorant. |
